Abstract
The main idea of the article is impartial analysis of the U.S. renewable energy utilization including all its types - hydro, wind, solar and biomass. Basic stimulus for renewables proliferation in the USA cited as well as barriers for renewables to enter the marketplace. Some distortions in industry and energy market that accompany renewables regulation in the USA mentioned either. There are recommendations for Russian energy industry development based on U.S. experience in renewable energy.
Keywords
Alternative (Green) energy, renewable energy sources (renewables), hydro power plant (HPP), wind power plant (wind turbine), solar power (photovoltaic, PV), biomass, renewable portfolio standard (RPS)
