Abstract
The article considers the views of historian Mikhail Geller. In 1969–1996, he was regularly publishing analytical reviews of the Soviet (Russian) periodicals in the Polish emigrant journal «Кultura», paying special attention to the Soviet-Polish relations and making extensive historical digressions, and entering into a controversy with Polish analysts and western Sovietologists. For instance, one of the disputable topics was the continuity between the pre-revolutionary Russia and the USSR, or Sovietisation of the Polish society.
