Abstract
The article is a summary of the author's two recent interdisciplinary books: "Man in a Changing World" and "The Boy is the Father of the Man". Current global changes of the traditional gender order, often presented as a crisis of masculinity, cannot be described in terms of the "feminization of men" and/or the "masculinization of women". Nor is it a historical/evolutional catastrophe. Without changing fundamental basic sex dimorphic male/female differences, the weakening of the traditional gender polarization is to go on in the contemporary world. This process is evident not only in the normative culture and division of social roles and identities, but also in the corresponding individual psychological traits and abilities. It means new social challenges for men and women and stimulates the processes of individualization and personalization. Psychological development and socialization of boys appears especially problematic and difficult today.
