Abstract
Studies in anthropology of food and nutrition are increasingly conducted and called-for in today's world. The article briefly surveys the development of research in this area from the traditional ways of ethnographic food description to the contemporary complex interdisciplinary approaches that involve methods of humanities, social, and natural science disciplines, as well as their applied aspects.
