Abstract
The authors discuss the practice of Sufi orders incontemporary Central Asia, drawing ona case study of Zikr Jahr. Particularly, they focus onthe practice of performing Zikr Jahr among the Sufi groups of UzbekistanandKazakhstan, andmake a comparative analysis of differentSufi traditions inFergana Valley, Surkhandarya Province, andSouth Kazakhstan. The article is basedonthe fieldresearch conductedin2003-2005.
