Abstract
The article aims to support the author's working hypothesis stating that, should one speak of a new calendar-astronomical cycle and new generations of children in that cycle, there will have to be voiced a theme of Light as a primal substance, without which the birth and life of children are impossible. The author argues that her research has supported this statement. The entire Christmas cosmology, as well as the information space of the Russian Yuletide, was saturated with mythologems and folklore with images or symbols of Light/Primal Light. The author presents her reconstruction and analysis of the issue drawing on a rich array of data.
