Abstract
The author examines religious practices among three ethnic-religious groups of the Chuvash (Orthodox Christians, pagans, and Muslims) from the standpoint of religious behavior of their members and the ways of interpreting religious norms that have developed in the course of syncretic blending of traditional beliefs and cults (Chuvash paganism) with Christianity and Islam.
