- Abstract
- Problems of marriage and family strategies and search for a spouse / life partner for disabled women in Russia are in the focus of this article. Drawing on my own field research materials, I delineate the main patterns of this search and their correlation with various social and cultural factors. I argue that the stigmatization of disabled people in Russia results in a widespread preference for a healthy person as an ideal spouse.
