Abstract
The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of self-identification of Russian and Chinese students. Russian students emphasize their uniqueness, Chinese students emphasize their ordinariness; Russians are more optimistic and cheerful, Chinese are more inclined to reflect; Russian boys and girls are more open in expressing their feelings, and Chinese students are more reserved. The self-characteristics of Russian and Chinese students are largely explained by the differences between the two types of civilization: the West and the East.
