Abstract
What are the axiological grounds for the emergence of sociological science? In what cultural context was it formed? Sociology originated in Western Europe, where Christianity (in contrast to the pantheistic religions of the East) does not consider the social dimension as an illusion, but allows active transformative activity and cultural creativity. The deistic worldview, which was the result of freedom of thought, served as the starting point for the birth of sociology as an independent science, free from theology and metaphysics. But early sociology contained a significant element of utopianism.
