Аннотация
В сегодняшней России понятие термина "удаленность" (remoteness) подвергается модификациям. Множество мест, которые недавно еще были развивающимися, динамическими, в последние десятилетия потеряли свой статус, были частично или совсем заброшены и стали "удаленными". Значение удаленности существенно изменилось как для людей, воспринимающих удаленные места издалека, так и для самих жителей данных мест. Автор показывает на основе примеров, как изменилась историческая значимость некоторых мест и как сосуществуют различные интерпретации их символических значений.
