Abstract
The article describes the oppositional path of philosopher Leszek Kołakowski and the reasons, why he was excluded from the Polish United Workers’ Party. Basing on the archival materials, the author retells the content of the talks held by Kołakovsky with the party leadership and presents the repercussions caused by the philosopher’s exclusion from the party in the Polish society
