- The author argues that the concept of color in anthropology may be instrumental in exploring functional properties of intellect, regardless of the forms in which they manifest themselves from the viewpoint of chromatic analysis of a real (feminine/asculine) person in a real (color/light and/ or social) environment. Chromatic defi nition of color led to the construction of the atomic model of intellect which correlated with other twentieth-century intellect models; and the resulting functions of intellect came to be linked to three types of logic (foral, abstract, and genetic). By taking into account gender properties of polychromatic color concepts, the author argues, we can incorporate anthropological data on cross-sexual relations into Goethe's theory of harmony.
