Abstract

The article analyzes the personnel policy of former Secretary of State R. Tillerson aimed at reduction of the American diplomatic corps, his conflict relations with President D. Trump, the Department of State and the Congress. The first steps of the new Secretary of State M. Pompeo are also being studied. Particular attention is paid to the two historic summits of the U.S. President with the leaders of North Korea and Russia, which testify to Trump's courage and his ability to act decisively pursuing the U.S. national interests, ignoring the strongest protests and obstruction of his innumerable opponents inside the country. At the same time, the new head of the State Department actively promotes these courageous moves.
