Abstract

For a long time the United States have been the only state in the world that set the Middle East settlement as one of its national priorities. The matter changed dramatically since President Donald Trump had started to use non-traditional approaches to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict resolution. Recent tensions between the White House and Palestinian National Authority on the issues of US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and cutbacks to the UNRWA funding prompts us to approach the history of the US-Palestinian relations. This paper examines the US administration’s efforts to strengthen Palestinian state-building by providing security assistance.
